Wright Brothers 282nd Aero Composite Squadron - Civil Air
          Patrol

SAFETY RESOURCES

Safety is at the heart of everything that is done within the Civil Air Patrol. It is vitally important for the Civil Air Patrol to do everything possible to create and maintain both a safe operating environment and an effective safety culture for all of our members. Safety is everyone’s responsibility and as part of our effort to become a safer CAP, it is imperative that we keep our safety program in the spotlight.

SAFETY EDUCATION

All members are required to complete safety education monthly in order to participate in activities such as CAP meetings, missions, or other special activities. Each CAP member must meet their safety currency requirement prior to participating in flight or vehicle operations, ES missions, wing-level activities, encampments, National Special Activities, or National Board and NEC Meetings. Members may attend unit meetings with the intent of gaining monthly safety education currency. This is a monthly requirement which expires at the end of the month following its completion (e.g. a briefing attended or completed on June 15, 2010 will carry currency through to July 31, 2010).

Safety Education is part of the monthly meeting schedule within our squadron. If you miss a briefing, you may make it up online. An Online Safety Education Guide is available to assist members in completing their safety education online.

CAPF60 - EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION DATA

All members participating in Civil Air Patrol activities should have a copy of the CAPF60 "Emergency Notification Data" form with them at all times. This is a two part form, one section is to be left with the activity staff and one section is to be carried with the participant in case of emergency.
