CADET PROGRAM TRAINING

As a cadet, you're on your way to some of the most exciting opportunities available to a person your age! It is our goal to make your experience in the cadet program as rewarding as possible. Most of your orientation will occur within the squadron meetings. As you get started, members will guide you every step of the way, make sure your questions are answered and get you started on the right foot!

Here are some common questions cadets have as they get started with Civil Air Patrol:

How do I earn my first promotion?
Take a look at the Cadet Super Chart. It will tell you exactly what you need to do to become a Cadet Airman. And if your New Cadet Kit hasn't arrived yet, you can download Chapter 1 of the Leadership text to get started studying right away!

Where's my membership card?
You should receive your CAP ID card in the mail within two weeks of joining. If yours has not arrived in this time frame let a squadron staff member know.

How do I get my cadet binder and textbooks?
About 2 weeks after joining, you should receive a New Cadet Kit in the mail that looks like this:

New
              Member Kit

If you haven't received yours yet, please let a squadron staff member know.

What is my CAP ID?
Your "CAP ID" is a 6-digit identification number. It's found on your membership card, or you can ask a member of your squadron staff once your application has been processed.

What is eServices?
eServices is your official online membership record and serves as home for the National Headquarters membership database. Be sure to visit eServices, create your free account, and verify that we have your correct contact information.

How am I supposed to wear my uniform?
Your New Cadet Kit will include a number of uniform resources, but in the meantime you can reference these online Uniform Reference Cards.

Parents of cadets are encouraged to download and read the Parent's Guide to the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program. If you have any questions about your child's participation in the program, please let a staff member know! They will also be glad to show you ways to become more involved with the squadron.
